Previous update: Atlas Runa Mid July 2026 Product Update
Speaking
- Live conversation practice is now open to all subscribers, not just testers โ talk through a scenario with an AI tutor instead of only shadowing scripted audio
- Speech-to-text now runs on a real transcription model instead of placeholder transcripts, so conversation practice reflects what you actually said
Stories
Launched a free short-story learning library as an easy way to sample reading practice before signing up.
- Beginner (A1) to intermediate (B1) levels
- Added short stories across levels and languages, with more on the way
- Built an interactive reader for the library with the same word lookups and hints as the full app
Reading
- Reading feed and articles now use continuous scroll instead of paginated navigation
- The reading feed is now free to use; removed the out-of-app reading link from the study hub
- Recommendations now scale by how close a text is to your level and back off further once you've marked it fully known
- Short, lighter readings are now favored when your vocabulary is still sparse in a language
Chinese & Japanese Readers
- Chinese lookups now skip over romanized names and Latin dialogue labels instead of trying to translate them
- Fixed the pinyin annotator and reader to show tone-mark readings consistently
- Fixed a lookup bug on ็ (zhe) returning the wrong primary reading
- Cleared word-known underlines immediately when you mark a word, instead of waiting for the next render
- Gave series and chapter titles more room so furigana and pinyin present better
Dictionary & Vocabulary
- Fixed Spanish dictionary lookups with better part-of-speech handling for irregular forms
- Polished the lookup popup's spacing, confidence labels, and action buttons, and matched its buttons to the iOS tiles
- Raised the vocabulary review interval for new words from 6 hours to 16 hours before the first re-check
- Flashcard review now hides inactive word lists and trims extra chrome
