Next update: Atlas Runa June 2026 Product Update

Speaking Mode

Launched Speaking Mode with shadowing and push-to-talk coaching. Practice speaking by mirroring native audio, then record yourself and get real-time feedback on pronunciation and fluency.

iOS App

The Atlas Runa iOS app is coming soon. Full parity with the web: reading, listening, conjugation, vocabulary review, writing, and the study hub — all in one place.

  • Apple Sign-In and native OAuth
  • In-app account deletion
  • Global settings menu, reader display settings, and guided study plan
  • Timed conjugation mode and conjugation test-out
  • Offline vocabulary review with local deck sync
  • Offline auth restore — the app recovers your session without a network round-trip

Chinese & Japanese Reader

Significant improvements to how Chinese and Japanese text is displayed and parsed.

  • Inline pinyin with tone marks for Chinese text on web and iOS
  • Per-character glosses when whole-word dictionary entries are missing
  • Improved Chinese polyphone resolution (e.g. 说 now correctly resolves to shuō)
  • Japanese furigana rendering across web and iOS reader surfaces
  • Fixed Japanese proper-noun dictionary lookups

Conjugation

  • AI Conjugation Capstone — an open-ended AI drilling session at the end of each level to test what you've learned in free conversation
  • Added Italian advanced tenses
  • Reduced XP required per level by 40% — levels complete faster
  • Added session progress bar to the quiz view
  • Cloze inputs now show a placeholder hint so empty blanks are clearly typeable

Reading

  • External website reading mode — paste any URL to read it with full vocabulary tracking and dictionary lookups
  • Sped up reading feed load with NLP prewarming and non-blocking recommendations
  • 7-day reading stats with week-over-week comparison on your profile
  • Improved daily reading reliability with automatic retry on failed generation jobs

Vocabulary

  • K / U keyboard shortcuts to mark words known or unknown while reading
